How to Make Oreo Milkshake

How to Make Oreo Milkshake

If you enjoy the flavor of Oreo cookies in your milkshake, you’ll love this recipe! You can even go one step further and create an Oreo milkshake cake by using this same recipe to make Oreo milkshake ice cream and topping it with Oreo pieces before serving. With all the steps involved, this will be your most challenging recipe yet, but it’s totally worth it. Just follow these steps to learn how to make Oreo milkshake at home!

10 steps to make delicious, creamy, rich and dense Oreo Milkshake at home

Get some Oreos of your choice, it is not compulsory that you should use standard chocolate sandwich cookies, you can use white chocolate, or even double-decker. Crush them in a food processor so that they become coarse crumbs and then empty them into a mixing bowl. Take ice-cream and pour in it using a large measuring cup, but don’t fill more than three quarters of it as we are going to add other ingredients. Take thick cream or Half & Half in another measuring cup and pour them into our crushed cookies bowl along with 1 cup of crushed Oreos. Mix everything together using a rubber spatula until all mixed up well.

Step 1 – Start with making a vanilla base

Take a deep and large bowl, add 1 cup of ice-cream, 1 and 1⁄2 cup of milk, 2 tbsp. of vanilla extract, 1⁄4 tsp. salt in it. Whisk all these together until frothy. After that put it inside refrigerator for 30 minutes.
It's ok if you make more than one bowl; sometimes you might want different flavors as well like chocolate oreo milkshake or any other flavor like strawberry or choco chip etc.. It really depends on your choice! And not just flavors but some people also go for making shakes in multiple layers so they use different color sprinkles which makes things more attractive! This way you can keep experimenting with new creations too! Once again its totally up to your taste and preference.

Step 2 – Add a layer of chocolate syrup

Pour a layer of chocolate syrup in your glass. The thickness depends on how much you want, but make sure it’s just enough so that each bite contains at least some chocolate syrup. However, don’t go overboard here. Adding too much will affect taste and texture of your shake.

Step 3 – Layer your crushed oreos

When it comes time to assemble your milkshake, layer your crushed oreos over a tall glass. Start with a layer of ice cream and press down gently with a spoon. Next, add a few oreos, then ice cream and continue layering until you’ve reached your desired height (the Oreo should end up on top). Enjoy!

Step 4 – Add your cooled cream layer (I used Chocomel)

If you’re using a blender, add your cooled cream layer and blend at medium speed until well combined. If you’re using an immersion blender (like I did), just stir until well combined. If you’re not sure, go ahead and taste it – yum! You can also add flavourings like vanilla extract or cinnamon if you want some extra kick. The recipe only makes a small amount of milkshake so feel free to double up for two servings! I don’t recommend freezing it but if you must then do so in a container that is too big for one serving and freeze overnight before enjoying over ice with a spoon as breakfast, lunch or dinner. Bon appetit! (recipe adapted from Completely Delicious)

Step 5 – Decorate as you please!

When you’re ready to serve, layer as much or as little of each ingredient as you want (in whatever order you want). The more layers, however, will make it more difficult for you and your guests to dig out all of that good stuff in each bite. Next time I make one of these, I’ll try a layered approach but fill my glass with enough ice cream so that I can crush it up at will. Enjoy!
